In London this weekend? Head along to Gigalum for an afternoon/evening session of beats at the hand of one of dance music’s greats… Krafty Kuts. Budgie’s own Square Eyes will be in support along with a host of other top acts. As always at Gigalum, entry is just a pair of ears and a big smile. What’s not to like?

Budgie man, Square Eyes (aka me writing this) hits the virtual shelves today with ‘Slowcoder’ featuring Paul Innes + remixes by Aspark, Animator & T3XUAL Vs Will Addict.
The original, a house and breaks mashup, comes complete with rockabilly chorus via Beautiful Burn frontman and guitarist Paul Innes. On the remix, Aspark gives it the full percussive prog breaks treatment, with quintessential mind melting breakdowns, sweeping build ups and pitch perfect atmospheric sparkle. Continue reading

The Don Juan of Substance Sounds & Prognosis events, both beacons of the Melbourne underground progressive scene, will be showing face at this week’s Divide by Zero show with Square Eyes. J-Slyde, the deviant maestro, seen here playing to a trailer whilst trying not to get shot by his t-shirt, is set to romance us with a selection of prog that will stroke even the biggest of chins.
